Questions people ask
Does it connect to my Twitch account?
Not for earnings. Twitch does not give apps access to payout or revenue data, so SetAside works from the report you export yourself, or from numbers you type in. That also means you never hand over a login.
Is this tax advice?
No. SetAside gives estimates to help you plan. For your actual return, check with a tax professional or your tax software.
Where do my numbers go?
The calculator on this page runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into it is saved or sent anywhere. The waitlist form only collects your email and the platforms you pick.
Which countries does it cover?
The US only, for now: federal income tax and self-employment tax, with a rounded estimate for your state's income tax. Rates are updated every year.
What does the estimate include?
Self-employment tax (Social Security and Medicare), federal income tax after the standard deduction and half of your self-employment tax, and your state's income tax, using a rounded estimate for typical creator income (cities and counties can add more). It does not apply credits or the 20% pass-through deduction, so it leans toward setting aside a little more than you may owe.
